課程介紹
本課程係以日本語文學研究所或其他系所研究生為授課對象。
本課程為選修課程，每週兩堂課，學程一年，上下學期各為2學分。
因台日地理位置、歷史背景、同文同種，關係至為密切，雙方往來頻繁、經貿交易活絡。
研究從鄭成功時代，歷經清朝、日本之統治、光復至今為研究範圍，特別著重日本統治50年，光復50多年，台日間歷史、民族性、宗教、思想、教育、藝術等比較研究，以深入探討語學、文學、生活風俗習慣、祭典之差異作比較研究。
教材除講義外，相關之台、日文化比較大多以錄影資料作為教材，以提升學習者之興趣。
教學方式著重討論、發表並作成結論，授課以日文講解為主，難以解釋詞句則以國（台）語輔助之，力求提升研究之廣度與深度，並強化日文程度。

*日本在台灣的「差別教育」

*台灣與日本、今昔比較
*台灣與日本選舉文化之特異性
*台日文化的拮抗

　　成績評定方式除平時上課時的出席率、發表、學習態度、上課筆記之外，尚包含期中、期末小論文之表現。



Course Description

This course is designed for graduate students majoring in Japanese Language and Literature. Students from other departments are also welcome.
It is an annual elective course with 2 credits each semester.
The main purpose of this course will be focusing on a through discussion on the history of modern era, national characteristics, both for Japan and Taiwan. Differences in customs, lifestyle, manners and culture will also be added to the topic of discussion. The two countries have so many things in common and yet their national characteristics are not as similar as we think we are. Video and handouts will be the main materials, and the instructor will select the latest related magazine clips as supplement.
This year we’re going to cover the following topics:
*Taiwan under the Japanese occupation, in combination with relationships between the placenames in both Japan and Taiwan
*Conflicts between the Taiwanese and the Hakka
*The good and the bad sides of Japanese culture
*Differences in the customs, lifestyle, and manners of Japan and Taiwan
*An “obscurantist education” promoted by the Japanese government
*Areas covering religion, thoughts, and arts
*Lessons learned from nature and culture
*Japan and Taiwan, looking at the past and the present
*People’s attitutes towards election in Japan and Taiwan
*Cultural competitions in Japan and Taiwan

The grading criteria will include attendance, presentation, participation, class notes, two midterm and final essays.
